Physical Therapy Aide and Administration Specialists are responsible for directly supporting Physical Therapists, which includes assisting with patient exercises, documentation, and clerical responsibilities. Ideal candidates for this program are motivated, organized individuals who work well in a team setting, are detail-oriented, and are able to multitask while delivering exceptional patient care. 

Students who complete the Physical Therapy Aide and Administration Specialist program will be prepared to assist members of physical therapy teams, readying spaces for patient treatment, monitoring equipment and supplies, as well as various administrative duties.

Where do they work?

Physical Therapy Aide and Administration Specialists work in a variety of healthcare settings, including rehabilitation units, physical therapy offices, skilled nursing facilities, and fitness centers. The daily role of a Physical Therapy Aide will include setting up treatment areas, preparing hot and cold packs, sanitizing equipment, and assisting with patient intake and documentation.

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the Physical Therapy Technician/Aide Certification (PTTC) exam and the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam. Earning one of these national certifications demonstrates to future employers that you have mastered the skills and knowledge necessary to work successfully as a Physical Therapy Aide and Administration Specialist.

Physical Therapy Aide and Administration Specialist Enrollment

  1. Students who wish to enroll in an online certificate program must connect first with their school's guidance counselor to get approval. Please contact Mrs. Miller at 717.506.3401 or admiller@cvschools.org to get started.
  2. Students must then receive parent consent via a signed copy of the Guardian Consent Form prior to enrolling in a program (available through the guidance office).
  3. The students' guidance counselor will work directly with Harrisburg University to enroll them for the program.
  4. Emerge Prepared programs are fully funded through a generous educational fund so no payment is collected from the student. 
  5. Upon enrolling, students will be paired with a Student Success Advisor who will act as a coach and mentor throughout the program. 

If students need additional funding source, we offer many convenient options.
